Background
Ahadi Achievers Empowerment CBO (AAE) is based in Kenya, Makueni County and champions community development projects in the county. The CBO works with more than 50 community self-help groups, and three other CBOs spread across the entire Makueni County and the number is increasing rapidly. As parts of its growth, the organization developed its leadership and management structure to allow effective implementation of its activities.
“Ahadi” in Swahili means “promise”. Many youths miss to achieve their promised future for lack of empowerment. Ahadi Achievers Empowerment CBO was founded with a mission to empower and improve the quality of life of the local communities through sustainable local development initiatives, youth self-reliance and mobility, climate action, women empowerment, social inclusion, sports, talent and education
AAE harness and develop the power of young people, by effectively involving them in direct implementation of the core activities that develops their life skills, enabling them become self-reliance and sustainable people in community service and development. We engage young people in a constructive manner enabling them initiative and build their ideas and be part development in their localities.
VISION: Empowered communities living better lives, with stable livelihoods for families, and the vulnerable while achieving sustainable self‑reliance.
MISSION: To empower local communities and enhance their quality of life through sustainable development initiatives, climate action, agriculture, water, talent promotion, and education.
Why work with Ahadi Achievers
Ahadi Achievers Empowerment CBO is a grassroots organization with a wide direct reach to grass root communities in the wider Eastern region (Makueni, Kitui and Machakos Counties). With the more than 80 self-help groups and other more than 20 CBOs, AAE is able to reach more than 7,000 community members directly and within a very short span of time.
Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties being ASALs face a myriad of development challenges including low access to clean and reliable energy, low uptake of renewable energy and inadequate policies at the county level to promote green energy. We understand and experience these challenges first hand.
