Ahadi Achievers Empowerment CBO works on the following thematic areas:
- SDG champions in Makueni. AAE creates awareness of all SDGs to the county government as well as the general community.
- Climate action: Championing preservation and development of water catchment areas and environmental management activities in the region as a source of revenue for people in the villages.
- Promotion of clean and safe energy cooking at household level.
- Empowerment of women and youth economically through equipping them with relevant skills and knowledge in agribusiness and resource mobilization; initiating enterprises that will increase economic productivity, and lead to poverty-reduction and wealth creation.
Social empowerment of youths (orphans, single parented, poor backgrounds) through community events such as capacity-building, youth trainings, talent search tournaments and social activities which bring our youths and communities together.
Engaging community group members in an effort to mobilize and enhance income-generating activities and thus improve the communal asset base.
Activities
- Community dialogues and engagement to champion localised development challenges
- Climate action: Tree planting and water catchment conservation and environmental management activities in Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties
- Youths’ engagement and capacity building through sports, school clubs, talk shows and evening market forums
- Training and linkage of community groups with in initiating enterprises that will increase economic productivity, and lead to poverty-reduction and wealth creation.
- Women and youth empowerment through equipping them with relevant skills and knowledge in agribusiness and resource mobilization
- Establishment of community led tree nurseries to meet demand of ecosystem restoration initiatives
